Is StudyPro for You?

Some students come by executive skills naturally and don’t need to ‘externalize’ the process. Others need support with developing strategies until the process becomes natural for them.

The continuum for brain maturation is natural and appropriate, but not forgiving to the student who has not internalized necessary skills to meet the demands of their school curriculum.

“I am a good student, but I am struggling to organize my schedule, work and materials.”

Our students are smart! Sometimes as smart or smarter than students who seem to manage a demanding workload with ease:

  • Students may have a full grip on the “content” (math, science etc.) but struggle with managing the “process” of being an independent student that is fully meeting their potential.
  • They have yet to internalize the skills necessary to efficiently manage and complete their work.
  • Therefore it is essential to externalize these skills by expressly and purposefully teaching (and then practicing) these skills.
  • A strong “study skills” foundation gives students an edge by teaching them how to best:

    Manage time

    Organize thoughts and materials

    Plan and prioritize work

    Get started

    Stay on track

    Learn from mistakes

Every student benefits from a “What kind of learner are you?” diagnostic with an individualized assessment. We then help our students to find their own path within that structure based on their existing strengths and self-awareness. Utilizing our 1:1 Coaching and ”Coached” Homework Center, these skills are practiced repeatedly until they become like muscle memory. Students can modulate through the process and put attention to where they need more help; gaining a greater understanding of themselves and their learning style.

In our “Coached” Homework Center, we use student’s current academic assignments – be it a research paper, a test, or a project – to practice the skills that they have learned. We help them to establish new, positive habits that put them in charge of managing and completing their work, as well as advocating for their own academic success.

For those who desire more individualized help, we provide 1:1 Coaching in conjunction with our Homework Center.
